The end of a vacation...

For me the end of a vacation comes at that point, usually a day or two before you come home, when you start to miss things like your bed, a kitchen, and the ability to have a regular bowel movement (it's been days). Last night a storm worse than the first blew through the camp. We were out on the lake at the time and it was truly a cool act of nature to witness. Until of course the giant wall of rain and flashes of lightning raced towards us on a wooden and metal dock. Meanwhile at the campsite the wind decided to flip my tent upside down. What a wonderful picture to see once returning to the campsite with RV's all around and my tent demolished. The only thing that kept it from going into the river was a single peg standing steadfast...the other nine had been plucked outright. So, for me the best option last night was to re-stake my tent and sleep in my car for the night. Needless to say I didn't sleep well and on the tail end of a 10 day camping trip, I am officially now ready to be home. Even sitting here in this beautiful visitor center (it really is amazing) I am trying to figure out how I can get some much needed sleep before tonight's second vehicular slumber.
When I get to this point a couple of things happen. One I hate people, literally. I never come so close to punching someone as I do the day before I come home from vacation, and like a switch my sanity returns the second I walk in the door of my welcoming home. AC is a luxury I no longer understand...we have been too long apart, and everything I own is damp with humidity and regret. Even my spirit is soaked with it.
So...I am here blogging in natures paradise because for me, for now, nothing could be more beautiful than a comfy chair and a very anticipated visit to a very clean bathroom.

Enjoy the pictures. These are my final three scenic shots.
