The Dark Knight

I went to see "The Dark Knight" at Edwards Greenway Plaza last night. I love the energy of midnight movies, everyone is always so excited and anticipant that you never really know what will happen. People were dressed in full costume, matching t-shirts (that were clearly homemade), the theatre was practically filled when I arrived at 11pm an hour before showtime. It was a meeting of geeks (including myself) as if we all had secretly planned to meet on our Batman blog sites. Me and some fellow geeks clapped as the movie started and again gave a loud and exonerating applause at it's conclusion. This was no doubt the best movie of the summer, and indeed the most fulfilling movie I've seen in years.
Now about the movie. I am crazy about any movie with explosions and martial arts and this had plenty of both. Clever twists and turns throughout along with some of the most entertaining acting I've seen. I really do believe Heath Ledger could win an Oscar with this performance. Heath's portrayal of the Joker was one of those special characters that an actor is rarely able to capture. It was spectacular!! "The Dark Knight" is what all super hero movies aspire to be! Great on every level! I really want to go back and see it this weekend in the IMAX. Anyone interested ??
